Emoji -New word in Oxford

The Oxford English Dictionary recently announced that its 2015 word of the year is not a word, but an emoji—the "face with tears of joy," to be exact! There's no denying that emoji are now a regular part of our online communications. And according to the Oxford, their usage soared in 2015, positioning the "face with tears of joy"—the most widely used emoji this year—to beat out shortlist contenders, such as sharing economy, Dark Web and lumbersexual! In fact, even the word emoji itself experienced a significant surge, tripling in usage over the previous year.
